Make your move for us And we will show you what you wanted With our bodies tumbling down I could see the faces surrounding We will fly just like the birds Or you will perish with the others Like an angel tumbling down Or a statue on a mountain Tears fall down with our world They didn't come back So I swore that I wouldn't burn But I was left behind Clouds of smoke fill the air Where you once were So I swore when it was my turn I won't be left behind Make your move for us And we will show you what you wanted With our bodies tumbling down I could see the spaceships surrounding We will fly just like the birds Or you will perish with the others Like an angel tumbling down Or a statue on a mountain Violet people of the land Make a wish and you'll be there There they built us silver streams Black Diamonds laying on the beach Violent people in the sand Walk about and cease the land Though they built us silver streams Dead bodies swaying in the breeze When I float away All these open spaces I couldn't fill with love Till I cease the day Floating in the same streets Where I used to run When I float away All these open spaces I couldn't fill with love Till I cease the day Floating in the same streets Where I used to run It was where I would become It was where I used to run

about

This song was written at a time when I was dealing with insomnia. In my half asleep half awake state I often felt as if I was floating above earth. I observed earth from afar as a spectator, and thought to myself, if I was not here, then where would I be? Different formations is about coming to terms with the decay of our earth and atmosphere, and our search for meaning. It is about the ways in which we live on earth like we want to escape it. I wanted to indulge in the chaos and irony of earth, and make a song that was beautiful, but sad. A letter to the wonderful and horrifying chaos of earth, a place where there is extreme beauty, but also decay, all happening at once.
